Powerball numbers May 5, 2018: Jackpot climbs to estimated $233 million

Powerball winning numbers for Saturday, May 5, 2018 were drawn. The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $233 million, $139.1 million cash value, the lottery announced. While no ticket matched all five numbers 14, 29, 36, 57, 61 and the Powerball 17 in the May 5 drawing, two tickets matched all five white balls.

One ticket sold in Missouri won a $1 million prize. The second ticket sold in Wyoming won a $2 million prize after the 4X multiplier was drawn, because it included the Power Play option. The total number of winners were 819,415, total prizes paid $ 9,710,707.

Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Powerball costs $2 per play. The odds of winning the top prize were one in 292.2 million. The Grand Prize amount is an estimate only. Grand Prize winners have up to sixty days after ticket validation to choose between cash and annuity options.

The largest Powerball jackpot to date was won on January, 2016. The world record $1.586 billion jackpot was won by three tickets purchased in California, Florida and Tennessee.
